Can I dispute a debt?

If you want to dispute a debt, you must contact the debt collection agency as soon as possible stating you do not owe money or requesting information.

The debt collection agency may halt the collection activity and sent you a copy of the debt verification. If the debt cannot be verified, a debt collector cannot release any information regarding the debt you are disputing without disclosing that the debt is contested.
