Can a debt collector refuses to provide any information about the debt other than the amount? |
Debt collectors often do not
get any background information on an account when it is given to them. Basically they are
given a name, a phone number, the creditor, the amount owed, and the last date of service
from the creditor. If you are in doubt, write to the debt collection agency and request
verification of the debt. |
