What to do before you go to court?

Ask your lawyer to request for a pre-hearing (in chambers) at the court as early as possible. If the pre-hearing (in chambers) is granted, it usually speeds things up and can save you a lot of money in legal fees and court costs.

Check that the debtor has the ability to pay you when you win your case. (Do not expect the lawyer to check on this.)

If necessary, hire a private investigator or credit search agency and find out his financial position or carry out a check on our CREDIT WATCH, with CTOS, ROC CHECK, ROB CHECK, BANKRUPTCY SEARCH, RECEIVERSHIP & WINDING-UP SEARCH, etc. There is no point spending good money and your time to get a court judgment, only to find out the debtor cannot pay you.
