How to upload files using FTP programs?

· Open a connection to the Internet and start your FTP program.

· Look for a field called Host Address / IP address and enter the IP address that was assigned to you by your host.

· If your domain name is active on Free Net, enter your FTP URL (ftp.yourdomain.xxx).

· Enter the USER ID your host has assigned to you in the "USER ID" field, and.

· Enter your PASSWORD in the "PASSWORD" field.

· Leave all other options at their default settings.

· Then, click "OK". This will log you into your site, and you will be ready to upload your files.

· When you first open your site, you will see a set of directories and a file. These directories and files are: cgi-bin, ftp and index.htm.

· You will need to upload your files to the same location as the "index.htm" file. This is your root directory. Once you have uploaded your files you are finished.

· You can now look at your website with your web browser.
