On Gypsum Board

MITI has announced on 15/02/00 that anti-dumping duties of 203.4%, 60.6% and 60.6% would be imposed on Thai Gypsum Products Public Co Ltd., Siam Gypsum Industry Co Ltd and SCT Co Ltd respectively due to their dumping prices.

The local sole producer company, Boral Plasterboard (M) SB in which Boral Australia Public Ltd had 55% stake would create a monopoly and could lead to price fixing. The company had to import raw materials such as gypsum rock, papers and chemicals from Thailand.
