Bahasa Malaysia is the official language and is used by all government servants in all government departments and agencies.

English is the most common business language spoken. It is commonly used in most business dealings.

Mandarin is another very common business language used by many small and medium-sized companies owned by Malaysian Chinese.

Nearly all school children, teenagers and working adults in Malaysia can speak English and Bahasa Malaysia fluently.

Most agreements, contracts, letters and correspondences are written in English. However, official transactions and biz dealings with the government shall preferably be in Bahasa Malaysia.

In the Courts of Malaysia, the use of Bahasa Malaysia is preferred, although English is still applicable.
