Malaysian textiles & apparel industry is involved in the manufacturing
and processing of natural fibers spinning & weaving mills, dyeing,
bleaching, printing & furnishing of cotton/ woolen yarns & fabric,
synthetic textile mills, carpets and rugs; cordage, rope, twine and
netting; knitted and crocheted fabrics; wearing apparel, dressing and
dyeing of fur; manufacturing of towels, blankets, bedspreads, socks and
accessories like zippers, buttons and laces. Basically, the industry is
divided into two major sub-sectors, namely textiles and yarn production,
garments and knitwear.
